Fibo panels are simple to install

Fibo is a leading supplier of high quality waterproof wall systems. Our wall panels are much easier to install than tiles, less expensive and easier to keep clean. They are of course approved according to the Wet Room norm and have a full 25 year warranty.

1. Preparation/behind Fibo panels

  • 1 Plywood, Gypsumboard, particale boards, OSB or even tiles can be used. Please see different solutions for installing with glue/screws.

2. Base profile

  • 1 The distance from the floor up to the bottom of the base profile is recommended to be minimum 2 inches.
  • 2 The membrane or the vinyl on the floor should go minimum 10 inches above the bottom of the panels.
  • 3 Put sealant on the back of the profile before attaching it with screws to the wall.
  • 4 Use the pre-drilled holes to screw the profile. It is important that the base profile is level.

3. Hidden internal profile

  • 1 Apply sealant on the clean cut edge. Fit the profile on the back of the panel with the accompanying screws in the package.
  • 2 Use the pre-drilled holes to screw the profile to the wall.
  • 3 Adjust the width of the next panel, apply sealant on the edge and push the panel into the corner. Attach the panel to the wall using screws or glue. Seal the corner.

4. First panel after the corner

  • 1 Always start the installation from left to right.
  • 2 The screws should have a distance of maximum 24 inch. (When using horisontal strips = one screw in each strip).
  • 3 The screw in the bottom should penetrate the base profile and the panel.
  • 4 Apply sealant in the aqualock click system (always on the left side of the panel), and click the next panel together. Continue with the next panel.

5. Sealing the click system

  • 1 Apply sealant on the left side of the panel. It is important to use enough sealant.
  • 2 Click the panel in place, and make sure that the sealant comes out onto the surface. The excessive sealant on the surface is removed with 1.Fibo Clean, 2.Fibo Fug and 3.Fibo Wipes.

6. Sealing the base profile

  • 1 Apply sealant in the gap between the base profile and the panel.
  • 2 Use Fibo Clean and the Fibo Fug to even and remove excessive sealant.

7. Gluing panels to existing walls

  • 1 Apply glue on the back of the panel.
  • 2 Use either hidden internal corner profile or standard internal profile, and attach to the panel before clicking it into place.
  • 3 Apply sealant in the standard internal corner profile, and push the panel in place. Fit the next panel.

8. Finishing panels to the floor

  • 1 Leave a gap of 2 inches between the base profile, and the floor. Apply sealant between the base profile and the panel.
  • 2 Use Fibo Clean and the Fibo Fug to even and remove excessive sealant.
  • 3 Apply sealant in the gap between the floor and the base profile.
  • 4 Use Fibo Clean and the Fibo Fug to even and remove excessive sealant.

9. Shower base, no flange (behind panels)

  • 1 After installing the shower tray, seal the gap between the tray and the wall. We recommend using a masking tape for the best result.
  • 2 Use Fibo Clean and the Fibo Fug to even and remove excessive sealant. Use Fibo Wipes as the last finish.

10. Shower base, no flange (corner)

  • 1 Cut the base profile to correct size. Apply sealant between the shower tray and the wall. Apply sealant on the back of the base profile.
  • 2 Install the base profile with a clearance of approx. 0,2 inch from the shower tray and screw the base profile to the wall.
  • 3 Install the standard internal profile in the corner.
  • 4 Apply sealant in the internal profile on the left hand side.
  • 5 Apply sealant on the wall as shown. Distance between each dots approx. 8 inches.
  • 6 Install the first panel.
  • 7 Apply sealant in the internal profile on the right hand side.
  • 8 Apply sealant on the wall as shown. Distance between each dots approx. 8 inches. Install the second panel.
  • 9 Apply sealant between the shower tray and the bottom of the panel. Make sure the whole gap is covered.
  • 10 Apply sealant on the finishing L-profile and attach it to the edge.

11. Shower base, with flange (panels behind)

  • 1 After installing the shower tray, seal the gap between the tray and the wall. We recommend using a masking tape for the best result.
  • 2 Use Fibo Clean and the Fibo Fug to even and remove excessive sealant. Use Fibo Wipes as the last finish.

12. Shower base, with flange (panels on top)

  • 1 Cut the base profile to correct size. Apply sealant between the shower tray and the wall. Apply sealant on the back of the base profile.
  • 2 The cut should always accommodate the acrylic lip.
  • 3 The base profile should be screwed through the base horizontal strip, pre-drill holes.
  • 4 Sealant to be placed behind base profile, and also between the base profile and the shower base.

13. PVC pipes

  • 1 The cut surface should always be sealed before installing the panel.
  • 2 There should be a 0,2 inch clearance to the pipe.
  • 3 Apply sealant, use Fibo Clean to even the sealant.

14. Copper pipes

  • 1 The cut surface should always be sealed before installing the panel.
  • 2 Clean the pipe with Fibo Clean.
  • 3 There should be a 0,2 inch clearance to the pipe.
  • 4 Apply sealant, use Fibo Clean/Fibo Fug to even the sealant.

15. PEX pipes

  • 1 The cut surface should always be sealed before installing the panel.
  • 2 Clean the pipe with Fibo Clean.
  • 3 There should be a 0,2 inch clearance to the pipe.
  • 4 Apply sealant, and fit the cuff over the pipe. Push the cuff so it attaches to the wall.

16. Pipes - boxes

17. Fitting accessories

  • 1 Pre-drill holes for the screws, not all the way through the panel, approximately 0.27-0.31 inches.
  • 2 Fill the hole with sealant, and put the screw through the hole.

18. 2-part stacking profile

  • 1 Cut the stacking profile to wanted size and place it on top/behind the panel.
  • 2 Cut the internal corner profile to wanted size and attach it to the wall.
  • 3 Adjust the panel for extension to the size wanted and screw it to the wall.
  • 4 Install the visible part of the internal profile.
  • 5 Push in the visible part of the stacking profile.
  • 6 Finish with L-profile (end profile) on visible edges.

19. Alternative for stacking.

  • 1 Adjust the panel for extension to the size wanted and screw it to the wall (we recommend using a distance keeper, same size as grout lines).
  • 2 Click and fit the rest of the panels.
  • 3 Fit the visible part of the internal corner profile.
  • 4 Seal the gap between the extended panel and the panel underneath.
  • 5 Use Fibo Clean, and Fibo Sealing tool to remove excessive sealant.
